(“Banks County Gazette”, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 1890)

Uncle Bennett Rylee died last Saturday and was buried in the woods just in front of his house Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock. We have enjoyed Mr. Rylee’s friendship only a year and a half. He was one of the oldest and most respected citizens in the county. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Grove Level, and was a good man.

Our hearts and hands go out to those he leaves behind.

Local Dots (social column, same issue date)-There were at least 500 people at Uncle Rylee’s funeral.
