Father and Mother: Jessie Oliver Thompson, born March 28, 1876 and died March 31, 1959, Annie Blanch Morris Thompson, born June 26, 1883 and died Aug. 9, 1944.
married Florine Garner, May 25, 1943 in Lawrenceville, Ga. and lived in Lula, Ga. Florine was born Sept. 1, 1906 and died Oct. 26, 1999.

Jessie O. Thompson family moved from RFD Banks county to Bellton, Ga., Banks Co. and Luther attended Lee Institute, Lula, Ga. until grade 5. He worked on the railroads with his father at an early age and in 1922 joined The Army Air Force. He remained in the United States Army Air Force until 1946 when the Military branched off to the Army and Air Force. He graduated from High School while in the Military Service. Luther joined and was discharged from the Air Force in 1953. He then worked for the Department of Transportation, Georgia and retired after 20 years in 1972. Luther served as Mayor of Lula, Ga. for 3 terms. He was on the Hall Co. Library Board and was a Boy Scout Leader.
