I am looking for any information on Andrew Jackson Grubbs who is listed in the Gillsville Banks County, GA census of 1860. He and his family were born in SC and lived in Gillsville a short time. In 1870 census, they moved back to SC. I found a record of Civil War service where he is enlisted in Co. A 13th cavalry Ringgold Rangers.I am puzzled as to why he moved to Ga, unless he had relatives already living there. He was born in SC and by 1870 was back in Spartanburg County, SC.

DOUGLASS, Emmons Philander I'm looking for Emmons Philander Douglass, and wife Nancy. He was born in Blount
Co., TN on November 22, 1818. He married 1) a Clementine, and he had a son, James
Knox Polk Douglass b. while living in Polk Co., TN. Emmons Philander Douglass
was County Clerk for Polk Co., TN for many years (1840 - 1850+). About 1855/6,
he moved to Madison Co., Iowa, where his parents and siblings had gone, and bought
land, both he and his wife, Nancy. Not long afterwards, he gave his son Power
of Attorney to sell the land they bought. At that time, he was a resident of Banks,
GA. His son, James K. P. Douglass became some part of the Arkansas Legislature
ca 1900, but nothing further is known as to what may have happened to Emmons Philander
Douglass and his wife, Nancy Douglass.

MANN, Rosa Lee Rosa Lee Mann's death certificate says that she was buried in Robertson Cemetery
in Homer, GA.in 1983. Checked all the cemetery books at the Homer library
and there was no Robertson Cemetery. We called the Patterson's in Norcross,
they handled her funeral, and they didn't know where it was, either. Also
talked to a couple of guys who supposedly know everything about Banks Co.
We checked Hart Co. and all surrounding counties also and we still haven't
been able to find Rosa Mann's grave.

McDOW, John John McDow lost a piece of property to taxes in Banks Co. He seemed to disappear
after the 1830 census. His widow was Sarah, I believe. He had several children
in the Poor Schools in Hall Co. in 1832, one of which is my g-g-grandpa.
Any info would be appreciated.

MURRAY, David J. My ggrandfather, David J. Murray (Murry) was born in Homer, Georgia
between 1834 & 1837 (according to his war record I received from Washington,
D.C). I cannot find any information on his birth, parents, etc. in Banks
County (or any other county in Georgia). I know he enlisted in the Civil
War in Banks County in 1861, and he married Sarah E. Sheridan Garrison
in 1865 in Banks County. The David Murray living with William Murray
on the 1860 Banks County census is not my David. This is and has been
an ENORMOUS BRICK WALL for me. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

MURRAY, Sarah E. Sheridan Garrison I am searching for information (for my father Clyde H. Murray, Sr.
who is 89) on Sarah E. Sheridan Garrison Murray's Bible, and relatives
in England. Sarah, my ggrandmother, was born in 1844 in Banks County,
Georgia and died in 1928 in Madison County, Georgia. She is listed
as living with William and Tryphenia Sheridan on the 1850 Franklin
County census. William is thought to be her father; however, Albert
Sheridan is shown as her father on her death certificate. I do not
know if William's middle name was Albert, or if this is an entirely
different person. She married Caleb Garrison in 1859 (he died before
1864), then David J. Murray (my ggrandfather) in 1865 in Banks County.
David died in 1908 in Madison County. My father was told an attorney,
Mr Shackelford, left her Bible in England between 1925 & 1928 to claim
an estate. My dad's mother was Mabel Langford and his father was Thomas
L. Murray. If anyone has any information/links, please let me know.
Your help is most appreciated.
