This photo was obtained from the state Archives under the name of "Store in Banks Co" Turns out this is George Kesler's store on a hill in Banks County overlooking the county line road and Kesler Covered Bridge.

Would like to identify those people standing on the front porch of the store. Only one person has been positively identifeid so far; that is the little lady with horn rimmed glasses standing just to the left of the third post from the left end of the porch. That is Julia C. (Segars) Kesler wife of John W. Kesler. I have a family photo of Julia the likeness is unmistaken.

The site of Kesler Store has been left untouched and can be discovered today as a depression in the ground the size and shape of the sturcture in the photo. Apparently the same building was used as a tavern or today's equivalent of a motel in the years prior to 1834 as James MILLER previous owner of the land and building applied for and obtained a license for tavern 1825. James died 1827 and his daughter married George Kesler and they obtained the land during the ensuing battle over Jame's estate.
