To the Honorable the Court of Ordinary of said County,
the petition of William C. Thomas of said County
respectfully sheweth that Granderson M. Thomas of said
County departed this life on or about the 17th day of
December 1863 leaving a considerable estate both real
and personal consisting of land, money and debts to
the value of four thousand five hundred dollars and
leaving your petitioner, Emely J. Prickett and Louisa
E. Wood & Amandy C. Patterson his heirs at law.
Wherefore your petitioner prays your honor to grant
him jointly with Amanda C. Patterson Temporary Letters
of Administration on the estate of the said Granderson
M. Thomas.  And your petitioner will ever pray etc.
July 9th 1864.

Grandison M. Thomas enlisted in Company A 24th Georgia
Infantry Regiment in Homer. ("Captain Chandler's
Company").  Some of his cards give his death date as
17 day of December 1864, but the date of death on the
petition regarding his estate clearly states 17
December 1863 and was filed 9 July 1864.
