In the name of God amen amen..

I Patterson Dodd of the county and State above said being of advanced age but of sound and disposing mind and memory and knowing that I must shortly depart this life deem it right and proper both as respects myself and family that I should make a dispostion of the property with which a kind provedence has blessed me. I therefore make this my last will and testament hereby revoking and annuling all others heretofore made by me.

item 1st. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner initiable to my condition in life my soul I trust will return to God who gave it as I hope for salvation through the attoinment of our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

item 2nd I desire and direct that all of my just debts be paid without delay by my executors herein named as I am unwilling that my creditors should be delayed of their just rights exspecially as there is no cause of delay.

item 3rd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Abby with whom I have lived in the strictest quite for many years the tract of land whereon I now live lying on Grove River all the land north of a line begining at the fork of the road near the court ground at the Popular Spring along the road through said tract of land leading to Gainsville containing three hundred acres more or less with all rights members and appertainments {?} therein. Appertaining or belonging you from all charges or limitations whatsoever to her own prosperuse benifit and behalf for and during her natural life. I futher give and bequeth to my said wife all my plantation tools of every kind whatsoever. Also all my horses hogs cattle and sheep together with my still and stands wagons house hold and kitchen furniture and all other property of which I may die possessed in the same ---------{?} manner for and during her natral life.

item 4th I desire that after my wifes death that the aforesaid land be sold and equally devided between Lucinda Terrel wife of John D Terrel, Malinda Armer wife of William Armer, Eliza Duncan wife of Denny Duncan deceased, Mary Pittman wife of W. D. Pittman and my son Berry Dodd. My son Albert H Dodd to be excluded from any portion of the proceds of the sale of the said land and I further direct that my said son Albert H Dodd have an equal share of the proceeds of the sale of all the personal property

. item 5th I constitute and appoint Elisha M Smith and Henry J Morris executors of this my last will and testament.This June 6th 1866
