WILL
OF T.D. SHERIDAN
State of Georgia
Hall County
I, T.D. Sheridan,
of Gainesville in said State and County, being of sound and disposing mind
and memory, do make, declare, and publish this, my last will and testament,
hereby revoking and annulling any and all other will or wills by me heretofore
made.
Item One. I desire
and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian-like manner suitable
to my circumstances and condition in life, and that all of my just debts be
paid as soon as practicable and possible after my death.
Item Two. Feeling
and knowing that my wife, Annie C. Sheridan, has gone back on me and been
untrue to me, and has taken up with other men, to the neglect of her own husband,
and has taken advantage of me, and has taken my home away from me and driven
me out of the house and away from home, and that she does not deserve anything
from my estate, I give, bequeath and devise unto her, my said wife Annie C.
Sheridan, the sum of one dollar, the same to be in full of any and all claims
that she may have against my estate.
Item Three. I give,
bequeath and devise unto each of my three sons, John, George and Robert Sheridan
the sum of One Dollar each, to be paid them by my executor hereinafter named
and appointed.
Item Four. I give,
bequeath and devise all the remainder and residue of my estate and property,
both real and personal and mixed, of whatever kind or nature that may be left
after paying the above legacies and bequests and such costs of administration,
as may hereinafter be provided for, unto my four grandchildren, to wit, Lois
Parks and David Thomas Parks (the children of my deceased daughter, Lovejoy
Parks), and Roberta Sheridan and Averilla Sheridan(the children of my son,
Robert Sheridan) to be equally divided among my said four grandchildren, above
names, share and share alike.
Item Five. I hereby
name, constitute and appoint my son George Sheridan, as executor of this my
last will and testament for the purpose of probating the same and carrying
out the different items thereof, expressly relieving him from making or giving
bond as such executor, and from taking any appraisement or inventory of my
estate, and from making and returns to any court whatever, and giving him
full power and authority to take charge of my estate and administer the same
and make the division of my property at such time and in such manner among
those to whom I have bequeathed the same, either in kind, or the proceeds
of the same, as he may deem best; and I give him full power to sell and or
all of my estate, either realty or personalty, that he may deem necessary
for carrying out the provisions of this will, either at public or private
sale, with or without advertisement, for cash, or upon such terms as he may
think best, without the necessity of applying to any court for order, leave
or permission to make such sale or sales.
And I desire that my said son, George Sheridan, for his services as
such executor, shall have and receive such compensation and commissions as
are fixed by law for executors and administrators for their services. The
word "have" interlined in last line of Item Two before signing.
In witness whereof,
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 30th day of August, 1920.
