Personally appeared before me, Brantly Prickett, a Commercial
Notary Public in and for said County, C. C. Mattox of Company H 43rd
Ga. Regiment and F. S.[ should be S. F.] Hancock, Company F 43rd
Ga. Regiment, who upon oath say than they know Thomas M. Savage personally
of Company K 43rd Ga. Regiment and that he was a good soldier and
that he surrendered with the Western Army near Goldsborough, North Carolina
in the month of April, 1865.
