Monteen Wade FITZGERALD, 55, of Alto, GA, died January 11, 1980. Born in Banks County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Bill and Mary Martin Wade. Surviving are husband, Erford Fitzgerald; daughters, Mrs. Brenda Stephens, Mrs. Edith Walker, Mrs. Mary Cagle, Mrs. Joan Arwood and Mrs. Deborah Couch; brothers, J.W., James and Gene Wade; sister, Mrs. Shelton Wilkinson; grandchildren. Funeral services were January 13, 1980 at Mt. Zion Methodist with the Rev. Woodrow Reems, the Rev. Woodrow Hix and the Rev. Sam Ragan officiating. Interment was in Wade Cemetery. McGahee-Griffin Funeral Home of Cornelia, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
Rufus Ray FLANIGAN, 54, of Baldwin, GA, died November 18, 2001. A son of the late Henry and Lucille Mealor Flanigan, he was born in Stephens County, GA. and lived most of his life in Banks County, GA. He was a member of the Toccoa Christian Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Ruth Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Gettys Flanigan; daughters, Dorothy Jordan and Danielle Babb; brother, John Flanigan; sister, Lela Harrison; grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services were November 20, 2001 at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Revs. Mark Hassler and David Ledford officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were James Powers, Allen Turpin, Johnny Flanigan, Grady Gettys, Dean Bowen and Michael VandeKerkhove. Arrangements were by the Acree-Davis Funeral Home.
Lucy Segars FOWLER, 77, died April 1, 1978 in Greenville, SC. She was a native of Banks County, GA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alfa Farmer Segars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet Fowler. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Gladys Bohannon, Mrs. Gwynelle Harper, Mrs. Rosetta Gillion and Mrs. Mozelle Starcher; sons, Dwain, Wendell, Doyle and Morris Fowler; grandchildren; great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held April 4, 1978 at New Hope Baptist Church by the Revs. Robert Randall, James Downs and Edward Brady. Interment was in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Acree-Davis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
