General W Davis Born March 18, 1837 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. General Whitner Davis was the son of Joel Davis. He served in the Confederate States Army in Co. I 16th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Regiment. General W. Davis died in Banks County, Georgia, on September 26, 1894, and is buried in the Davis cemetery.
