SEVEN MEN KILLED

Toccoa GA, May 17 (1915)

Seven men, two of them white, were killed and ten others were injured, some seriously, when a derailed car overturned on the Southern railway near here Sunday while a wrecking crew was clearing a freight wreck. All of the men were employees of the road.

The white men who lost their lives were S.G. ESTES, supervisor, Toccoa, and S.E. GRIFFIN, section foreman, Liberty S.C.

Five of the injured men were white. They are: Thomas BENNET, Flowery Branch, Ga; Boss CASH, Mount Airy, GA;, and S.E. THOMAS, Lulr, Ga.

Railroad officials said the accident was caused by the slipping of a chain on one of the derricks which was lifting the car. The men were under the suspended load.---------Atlanta Journal
